Hi everyone, I am wanting to enter a photo competition. Itways the pictures must be high-resolution RGB jpeg attachments with a minimum size of 1mb and a maximum size of 5MB per e-mail and each image must include the photographer’s name in the filename

What does RGB mean. I have looked but cann't really understand what RGB means

I've scanned the photos and have them on my computer, but i haven't put them through photoshop

Hi Andy,

Just wanted to let you know that my forum members have mentioned a few times in the last few days since the switch over that they can't get on the forum.

I have noticed a few times but haven't been on as much.

Are these teething probs or is something making the server cut out?!

Sorry about this.

Hi guys

Well, I have ordered a new server from easyspace and I expect it to go live within the next 24-48 hours. What will happen is that I will transfer all the data over and then it will be a matter of resetting all the domain name dns settings, which I will need your easyspace or godaddy details to switch it all over.

Hopefully that will rid us of these disruptions we have suffered from.

I had the forum loaded and farmingfriends and my email open. I do notice that it struggles more when I have my email open at the same time as I am on the forum.

The focus is on 'Strangers into Friends' and we (Tom and I) will be discussing how to get those one time visitors into repeat visitors.

It is an invite to all businesses but I thought you may be interested.

Hi All,

For those of yu who have a subscribe by email feedburner subscription box may want to change the title of the emails so that instead of saying title of website say the title of the post.

I recently changed mine and I think this encourages more people to open the email.

1)You can do this by logging into your feedburner account.
2) Click on title of blog.
3) Click on Publicize tab along the top.
4) Click on email subscription in blue on left hand sidebar.
5) Click on email branding in blue in lefthand sidebar.
6) Where it says Email Subject/Title: type in ${latestItemTitle}
7) Click on save and it's done!

Hope that helps.

Hi, I have logged into mail chimp and it says I should delete cookies. This is their instructions --

Close Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Step 2Search your hard drive for a folder labeled "Cookies."

Step 3Open the folder.

Step 4Note the list of text files with names of the form "user@sitename." These are cookies.

Step 5Select the cookies you want to delete (you may want to keep the ones from sites you visit often).

Step 6Press the Delete key to delete the selected cookies...

I thought you went to Internet Explorer, Tools, options, then press the delete button. After that tick Temporary internet files and then press delete again.

Is it OK doing it this way. As I don't understand the way Mailchimp say . They say search the hard drive.

Hi

I am being nagged to make a concrete video and believe you me there is no-one worse at nagging than Jont and his partner. They have phoned me four times and sent 26 emails in one day all about ideas for the site! Unfortunately as I relied on the old forum and haven't done it in a while I have completely forgotten what to do.

I vaguely remember putting it into Sony Vegas, editing it. Then do I have to save it as a particular file (wav? avi?) I still have riva and I think I click on the encoder icon and then browse the input video, find my file + then press encode.

Then does it come out as an flv file? Is that rendered in its final format for youtube?

Were there some special settings/ numbers? If anyone still has the notes any chance of forwarding them? I need some peace and quiet!

Thanks
Leanne

Hi Andy,

I wander if you could help me.

I'm trying to put a hyperlink from sidebar of discussion forum to the homepage of the blog.

I'm using Filezilla and have gone down the directories...

httpdocs
forums
bbtemplates
kakumei blue (that's the theme I am using)

I was then expecting to be able to get to header.php but that file wasn't listed. header.php is listed if I go back to one of the other themes that is uploaded (but is not my current selected theme).

So the question is, what am I doing wrong?
Also when I eventually get to the file I require to edit I understand I should right click on it, then click view/edit. This brings the file into wordpad/notepad where it can be edited. After I've added the hyperlink in to this code, how do I save it back to the server?

Stephen.

Hi Andy,

I have been reading about paid links and that google can penalise a site for paid links. So if a company/website that is relevant to your website approaches you and wants a text link and is willing to pay for this, will google penalise you? How would they know that someone has paid you for a text link? I link to Topveg in relevant posts, eg if I have written about growing courgettes in my veg garden I would link growing courgettes to a post on topveg about growing courgettes. These are just natural links that I don't charge for but if just as an example Sally paid me for a text link on one of my posts (by the way I'm not going to charge Sally for a link, just using it as an example!), would google penalise me, how would they know it was a paid link and not just a natural link.
What instances do google penalise for paid links?
Thanks
Sara

Hi everyone,

Just saw this contact form plugin and thought it may be useful to someone for something. The interesting thing about it is that it can be used to let members of the public post onto wordpress(ie. user generated content).

Hi, I have just put a widget on birdtablenews about a newsletter (which I have not written yet - or even found out about how to do one)

Now bird table news is clicking off the internet again when I'm working on it. Are these two things related do you think? Also couldn't get onto FOW for a few minutes
