We are going to get a gadget (a 56 10) from <a href="http://www.solwise.co.uk" rel="nofollow">http://www.solwise.co.uk</a> which fits on the roof of the house to beam the broadband over to another 56 10 which fits onto the roof of farmbuilding. It has to be a free line of sight, so no trees in the way. Then house gadget has a wire down to our router & farm building one has wire down to access point. Gadgets cost £80 each & you can have 5 or 10km between them (can't remember which.) Looking at Junes stats it looks like Steve had 160GB of traffic with Sara coming in next with 51 GB. This month Sara has received 23 GB with Steve only 5GB, so I am guessing that whatever was spamming Steve has now stopped. I am still thinking that there must be some bad plugin or program causing these disruptions and will report back. Tuesday 13th July pm and Wednesday 14th July am The websites wouldn't load for a good 10 mins this morning from about 7.45 and then came on just after 8am. One of my farmingfriends forum members said about last night "the farming friends website is playing up really badly this evening." The websites were working at 9pm to 10pm last night but then I went off the internet so don't know when it wasn't working. What happens then is the server tries to sort itself out and reset the web service. This can take a few minutes. It shouldn't really be that noticeable but I will take a look on Wednesdays more closely, and see whether the server is on any unnecessary load. The problem stopped and I assumed it was because Andy upgraded the server. It does occasionally happen, but not often. I haven't been on Bird Table News as much lately though. I know when I took my computer to be looked at in Driffield they tried to log onto Bird Table News but couldn't. I wanted to bring the computer to Goole, but did have time. Driffield is loads nearer. They gave my computer a good overhaul so maybe that helped as well. Technical computer things are so annoying aren't they? I'm glad you have a following who tell you there is a problem instead of just giving up. Forum members have also noticed this. I had the forum loaded and farmingfriends and my email open. I do notice that it struggles more when I have my email open at the same time as I am on the forum. Wondered if you had noticed anything for Wed teatime. Basically they wanted to try an access point to start with and if that didn't work then it may be necessary for a high gain antennae at both points which would entail a couple of routers to go with them.
